Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, has urged security forces to remain resolute in repelling bandits and terrorist incursions into Kano State. He gave the charge during an on-the-spot assessment of military and joint security operations across Kano North.
Barau visited four security camps in Gwarzo, Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, following recent attacks on communities in the senatorial district. The visit came after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the deployment of a joint task force comprising the Army, Police and NSCDC to curb cross-border attacks from neighbouring states.
Commending the operatives for their sacrifices, Barau praised President Tinubu for the swift security response, noting that calm was gradually returning to affected areas. He urged the troops to sustain the tempo and decisively flush out criminal elements.
The lawmaker also called on residents to support security agencies with credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains critical to restoring lasting peace in Kano North.
