Ex-Senator Gada Returns to PDP, Blames Tambuwal for ADC Collapse

Former Sokoto East Senator, Abubakar Gada, has officially returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending weeks of speculation about his political future ahead of the 2027 elections. Gada announced his move on Saturday during a rally in Sokoto, blaming former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for weakening the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

Gada claimed that he and Tambuwal were expected to lead ADC locally, but Tambuwal’s absence and political contradictions left the party “in limbo.” He alleged Tambuwal maintained discussions with the APC and pursued a vice-presidential option with Peter Obi, failing to align with ADC structures and supporters.

At the rally, PDP supporters celebrated Gada’s return and encouraged him to contest the 2027 governorship election. Some called his move a “turning point” for the party, urging women and youth to back him.

However, the Sokoto State PDP dismissed Gada’s claim, stating he is not officially registered or recognized in the party at ward, local, state, or national levels.
