The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State has dismissed allegations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is secretly financing the party.
The claim, reportedly made by a socio-political group, the Kwara North Development Commission, suggested the governor was bankrolling the ADC despite leading the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Reacting on Tuesday, ADC chieftain and former Nigerian Ambassador to Japan, Prof. Isa Gana, described the allegation as false and illogical. He said he was unaware of the group making the claim and questioned how an APC governor could fund a rival party seeking to unseat his own government.
Gana stressed that the ADC is independently mobilising across Kwara to present an alternative platform ahead of the 2027 general elections. He added that the party has no financial or political arrangement with the state government and urged those spreading the claims to desist from misinformation.
