A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Hon. Bulus Iliya, has accused former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, of deliberately fueling speculation that ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, is desperate to become Vice President in 2027.
Iliya said the controversy gained traction after Shehu Sani reposted a social media image with a caption suggesting it was unusual for anyone to openly seek the vice-presidential position. According to him, the comment was not innocent but a calculated move to ridicule and cast Dogara in a negative light.
He argued that Sani’s intervention amplified an otherwise obscure post, giving it undue visibility and momentum. Iliya further alleged a possible coordinated attempt to malign Dogara’s image ahead of future political alignments.
