In a statement by Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN president, he highlighted the ongoing economic and security challenges but stressed that the birth of Christ brings hope and reminds the nation of God’s enduring love.
Okoh urged church leaders, especially in remote or high-risk areas, to ensure the safety of worshippers through practical measures, including smaller gatherings or safer locations. He also encouraged close collaboration with security agencies to guarantee peaceful celebrations.
The CAN president appealed for solidarity with Nigerians affected by violence, hardship, or displacement and called on citizens to embrace unity, peace, and mutual respect. He prayed that the festive season and the New Year bring healing, faith, and lasting peace to the country.
