Former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has warned that Nigeria will face a very difficult test when they take on Tunisia in their second Group C match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Nigeria secured a 2-1 win over Tanzania in their opening fixture, while Tunisia recorded an impressive 3-1 victory against Uganda, placing the North Africans top of the group on goal difference. Speaking after Nigeria’s opening game, Yakubu admitted the Super Eagles were fortunate to secure maximum points against Tanzania, noting that the opponents created several dangerous chances.

He stressed that Tunisia are a more experienced and disciplined side, making the upcoming encounter a tougher challenge for Eric Chelle’s men. According to Yakubu, Nigeria must improve defensively and be more clinical to avoid punishment. The highly anticipated clash kicks off at 9pm Nigerian time on Saturday.
