The All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of deliberately refusing to register the party despite meeting all constitutional and administrative requirements. Speaking on Arise Television, ADA’s key promoter, Umar Ardo, said the party submitted all required documents, paid the ₦2 million administrative fee, and successfully passed multiple screening stages.
According to him, ADA was among eight associations pre-qualified by INEC and cleared for physical verification, with functional offices in all 36 states and the FCT—exceeding legal requirements. Ardo alleged that INEC failed to issue any public explanation or request additional information, contrary to its stated procedures.
He further claimed that INEC avoided public updates to escape backlash, insisting that the commission’s silence raises serious questions about transparency and fairness in Nigeria’s democratic process.
