The black market dollar to naira exchange rate has remained elevated as traders exchanged the US dollar at high levels on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Findings from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos show that the dollar is being sold at ₦1,477, while buyers are purchasing at ₦1,475 in the parallel market.
This rate reflects continued pressure on the naira amid strong demand for foreign exchange. Market watchers say fluctuations remain driven by supply constraints and economic uncertainty.
It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize transactions conducted in the black market. The apex bank has consistently advised Nigerians seeking foreign exchange to use official banking channels approved by the regulator.
