A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could emerge as Nigeria’s “Abraham Lincoln” if elected president in 2027.
Momodu made the remark on Monday during an X Space session titled “Avrilsspace: The Electoral Mathematics for 2027.” He expressed confidence that Atiku stands a strong chance of winning the presidency if he decides to contest again.
The media entrepreneur recalled Atiku’s long political journey, noting that he has been in the race since 1993 when he stepped down for MKO Abiola. Despite losing to President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election, Momodu said Atiku remains a strong contender.
According to him, Atiku’s health, experience, business success and disciplined lifestyle give him an edge, adding that he has maintained maturity even amid past political disagreements.
