Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has stirred public debate after openly acknowledging the existence of a cabal within his administration, describing the group as central to his government’s achievements.
Speaking at a public event in his hometown on Sunday, the governor said the cabal was approved by his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello. Ododo maintained that teamwork should be encouraged regardless of labels, provided it delivers tangible results.
He expressed pride in the group, stating that one of its major achievements was the project slated for commissioning at the event. According to him, his current cabal has outperformed previous ones he had belonged to.
Ododo named Hajiya Dr Habibat Tijjani Aliyu, FCMA, as the leader of the cabal, noting that it comprises key government officials such as the Accountant-General, Auditor-General, party chairman, Special Adviser on Protocol, and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.
