The Bauchi State Government has dismissed claims that Governor Bala Mohammed is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), calling the rumors “false” and “imaginary.” The clarification followed a statement by PRP Publicity Secretary Hon. Wada Abdullahi, who insisted the party would not welcome Governor Mohammed due to what it described as a record of poor performance and disregard for democratic values.
In response, Governor Mohammed’s Special Adviser on Media, Mukhtar Gidado, reaffirmed the governor’s loyalty to the PDP, emphasizing his active role in strengthening party stability and internal democracy. Gidado also highlighted ongoing developmental progress in Bauchi, including empowerment programs, infrastructure, rural and urban development, and tourism initiatives. He urged residents to disregard political propaganda and noted that any decisions regarding the governor’s political future would be free from false narratives or malicious claims.
