Mr P Opens Up: “I Fear Poverty, Not Death” in Emotional Revelation

Award-winning Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has revealed that his greatest fear in life is poverty, not death. Speaking during an interview on the Nancy Isime Show, the music star recounted his difficult childhood, describing how his family of ten lived in a single room that was eventually demolished while they were still inside.

Mr P explained that growing up in such hardship shaped his mindset and drives his determination never to return to a life of lack. He recalled how a bulldozer pulled down their home after the landlord sold the property, leaving his family stranded.

The singer said experiencing poverty firsthand is the reason he works tirelessly today.
