Former APC National Chairman and ex-Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has sharply criticised the Kano State Government for calling for his arrest over alleged comments about establishing a militia group. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje described the move as “reckless and politically driven,” insisting the allegations are without evidence.
He accused Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration of abandoning its duty to secure the state while insecurity continues to trouble local government areas such as Bagwai, Shanono and Tsanyawa. Ganduje said the governor has failed to show leadership or visit affected communities, stressing that his own eight-year tenure was marked by peace and stability.
The APC stalwart urged Governor Yusuf to focus on protecting residents instead of “political theatrics aimed at diverting public attention.”
