Atiku Demands Emergency on Insecurity

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently declare a state of emergency concerning Nigeria’s security situation.

Atiku made this demand on Friday through a statement posted on his Facebook page, responding to the recent abduction of students in Niger State.

Earlier reports from DAILY POST confirmed that terrorists attacked St. Mary Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, kidnapping over 50 students and staff members.

In his reaction, Atiku expressed concern over the Tinubu administration’s lack of decisive action regarding the worsening security conditions in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election described the attack as heartbreaking.

He stated, “Not again. This is truly heartbreaking. How many more lives must be shattered before decisive action is taken?

“It is not too late for the government to finally declare a state of emergency in insecurity and confront this menace with the urgency it deserves.”
