Afrobeats singer, Stanley Omah Didia, widely known as Omah Lay, has asserted that prayers alone are insufficient to save Nigeria.
He emphasized that meaningful change will only occur when citizens begin to take proactive actions. “No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up,” he expressed on his X handle on Thursday.
Omah Lay’s statement comes amidst calls from both Christian and Islamic clerics urging for prayers for Nigeria, as the nation faces escalating insecurity and economic difficulties.
In response to the recent terrorist attack on a church in Kwara and the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi state, other celebrities like Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, and Mr Macaroni have also urged relevant authorities to act swiftly.
Moreover, singer Yemi Alade expressed her opposition to calls for foreign intervention in Nigeria’s security issues, advocating that “African problems need African solutions, not new problem.”
