The Federal Government has condemned the abduction of female students from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, pledging immediate action for their rescue.

In a statement on Monday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, expressed the government’s solidarity with the affected families and emphasized its commitment to securing the safe return of the students.

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that ensuring the safety of all Nigerians, particularly schoolchildren, is a fundamental responsibility of the state.

The attack, which also resulted in the deaths of school officials, was labeled unacceptable and reprehensible.

He added that the government is unwavering in its efforts to reunite the students with their families.

Furthermore, the Federal Government is enhancing internal security by improving military, police, and intelligence coordination and strengthening regional partnerships with ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force to combat terrorism and cross-border crime.
