Air Peace Denies False Claim Allegations, Says ₦100m Was Paid Directly to Anambra Government for MRO Land

Air Peace has dismissed allegations that its Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, made false claims regarding payment for land allocated for the airline’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Anambra State.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace described the accusations, credited to the Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Emeka, as “unprovoked, baseless, and entirely misplaced.” The airline maintained that Onyema had made no false representation concerning the land transaction.

Clarifying the issue, the airline emphasized that all dealings concerning the MRO project were conducted directly with the Anambra State Government, not with any individual or community. According to the statement, Air Peace paid ₦100 million directly to the government for the designated land and was issued an official receipt dated August 26, 2021, confirming the payment.

“For the avoidance of doubt, payment for the land was made directly to the Anambra State Government, and an official receipt for the sum of ₦100m was issued to Air Peace on August 26, 2021,” the statement read.

The airline further revealed that a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the same land was duly issued on September 14, 2021, thereby completing the legitimate process of acquisition and ownership.

Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and lawful business practices, insisting that its operations and investments continue to align with due process and integrity.
