Tinubu Accepts Minister Nnaji’s Resignation Over Allegations

President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, amid allegations of forgery.

Appointed in August 2023, Nnaji has faced scrutiny over accusations that he forged his first degree certificate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, which he submitted for ministerial screening over two years ago by the National Assembly.

In a statement released on Tuesday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, it was confirmed that Nnaji resigned, expressing gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve Nigeria.

In his resignation letter, Nnaji claimed he was a victim of blackmail by political adversaries.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation for Nnaji’s service and extended his best wishes for his future endeavors.
