Dangote Refinery Hails President Tinubu for Resolving Dispute with PENGASSAN

In a show of appreciation, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has extended heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt intervention in resolving the recent industrial dispute between the refinery and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

In a statement released on Sunday, the refinery commended the President, alongside the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Ministers of Labour and Employment, and other senior government officials who played vital roles in restoring peace and stability.

“Dangote Refinery is grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, for his intervention, through his ministers and senior officials, which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the refinery,” the statement read.

The company described the government’s response as a mark of patriotism and national service, noting that such actions strengthened public confidence in Nigeria’s economic institutions.

Dangote Refinery also thanked Nigerians for their overwhelming support, encouragement, and understanding during the tense period, reaffirming its commitment to national growth and stability.

“You gave us hope and reinforced our belief in the Nigerian nation and people as the backbone of our enterprise,” the statement added.

The refinery further commended its loyal workforce for ensuring smooth operations despite the challenges, emphasizing that there was no operational downtime throughout the dispute.

“To our loyal workers who ensured that our operations were not disrupted even for a second, we thank and appreciate you,” it said.

Reassuring the nation, Dangote Refinery promised to remain steadfast in its mission of ensuring uninterrupted production and supply of petroleum products to Nigerians.

“Our commitment to the Nigerian nation and our pact with its people remain undiluted, undiminished, and unalterable notwithstanding the distractions from our detractors and saboteurs,” the statement concluded.

With this resolution, industry experts believe the refinery’s smooth operations will further strengthen Nigeria’s domestic refining capacity and reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.
