Jandor Declares: “I’m Running for Lagos Governorship Again in 2027”

Former Lagos State governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially declared his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election.

In an interview with Vanguard on Thursday, Jandor dismissed speculations surrounding other potential aspirants, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, and former Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

According to him, his decision is not just about returning to the ballot but a renewed commitment to serve the people of Lagos.

“I’m Coming Back Stronger in 2027” – Jandor

Jandor stated:

“As for Lagos State, I am offering myself once again to serve. I’m indeed running for the Lagos governorship race in 2027. When it was time for me to truly leave, I came all out, and we took Lagos by storm. Very soon, activities will begin to galvanize support from Mr. President and the party to ensure that whoever picks the APC governorship ticket in Lagos will have a strong run. Let me put this to rest: I am running in 2027.”

The PDP chieftain further pledged his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, describing Tinubu’s leadership as progressive and visionary.

Jandor Endorses Tinubu for 2nd Term

While stressing that the President deserves another chance to consolidate on his achievements, Jandor said:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven his capacity to lead this country with vision and courage. I call on Lagosians and Nigerians at large to ensure he gets a second term in 2027 so we can all continue to benefit from his progressive leadership.”

His dual ambition — contesting the Lagos governorship seat while also supporting Tinubu’s presidential re-election — is expected to generate heated political discourse as 2027 draws near.
