ABUJA — The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), the umbrella body representing the 36 state governors, has announced sweeping senior-level appointments designed to transform its Secretariat into a modern governance and policy hub.
The move follows an organizational review conducted by Deloitte, which was tasked with reengineering the NGF Secretariat to reflect international best practices. According to the Forum, these appointments will strengthen technical expertise, improve coordination with state governments and development partners, and boost the Forum’s ability to respond to Nigeria’s evolving governance challenges.
In a statement by the NGF’s Director of Media and Strategic Communications, Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, the newly appointed directors were approved by Director-General Dr. Abdulateef Shittu to “consolidate the Secretariat’s technical depth, enhance program delivery, and ensure sustainable reforms across Nigeria’s 36 states.”

“These changes signal a deliberate shift toward a more agile and results-driven institution,” the NGF said, adding that the restructuring will strengthen Nigeria’s subnational leadership and ensure governors are better supported in driving innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth across the federation.
