A Nigerian politician and former student leader, Daniel Onjeh, has shared a heartwarming story of reuniting with a security man, Haruna Mohammed, 22 years after graduating from the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.
Onjeh, who once served as President of the West African Students’ Union and National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), posted photos of the emotional reunion on Facebook on Wednesday.
He recounted that Mohammed, fondly called “Damaturu,” recognized him instantly and ran to embrace him with excitement.
“He completely lost control out of excitement, jumped to hug me and pecked both sides of my cheek the moment he sighted me for the first time after 22 years!” Onjeh wrote.
He admitted that while he didn’t pay much attention to the security man during his student days, Mohammed vividly remembered him and fondly recalled their interactions from years past.
“This touching reunion reminds me how genuine human connections endure, even when time and distance stand between us. May God guide and preserve him always,” Onjeh added.
The story has since gone viral, drawing admiration and emotional reactions from Nigerians online
