Yomi Fabiyi Alleges Cover-Up in Mohbad’s Death, Launches Lone Protest for Justice

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has vowed to continue his lone protest demanding justice for late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, insisting that fresh leads in the case are being compromised.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Fabiyi revealed that a video recording and chat records, which surfaced in December 2024, could have provided crucial evidence in unraveling the mystery surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death. However, he alleged that investigators have failed to handle the material properly.

“There is a new lead which came as a result of a video evidence and chat in Mohbad’s case around December 2024. This evidence is suffering huge compromise by the Lagos State Police Command. The key suspect(s) are allegedly being shielded from proper investigation by some groups of people claiming their influence and relationship with the president. We want the Federal Government and police headquarters to arrest the situation as soon as possible and deliver authentic justice for Mohbad and the public,” Fabiyi said.

The actor emphasized that his activism is not driven by personal gain, stressing that his campaign through an NGO is fueled by a commitment to truth and justice.

“I don’t make money from such things. Mohbad’s issue is a big case. The public, via our NGO, is seeking justice for Mohbad through his family and close friends with little or no support from the public. He had the right to life, and it was taken away from him,” he added.

Fabiyi further maintained that until accountability is achieved, he will not relent in his push to ensure that those responsible for Mohbad’s untimely death are properly investigated and brought to justice.
