The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of lacking sensitivity amid growing economic hardship across Nigeria.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, criticised the government for what he described as a denial of the harsh realities facing citizens. He said available records show Nigeria is not on the right path, despite repeated assurances that the economy is improving.
Abdullahi also faulted the ruling APC for continuing to make promises three years into its tenure, arguing that Nigerians are still being asked to “wait” despite worsening living conditions. He stressed that leadership requires empathy, especially during national crises.
Comparing Tinubu with former President Goodluck Jonathan, Abdullahi said Jonathan remained in the country during difficult periods and did not abandon governance for foreign trips. He insisted that the current administration’s frequent travels reflect a troubling lack of concern for Nigerians’ suffering.
