A senior Google UK employee, Victoria Woodall, has told a London employment tribunal that she was unfairly targeted and later made redundant after reporting sexual harassment by a manager.
Woodall, a senior industry head in Google UK’s Sales and Agencies team, alleged that following her whistleblowing in 2022, she faced retaliation including removal from a profitable account, reassignment to a struggling one, and demotion on a major internal project. She said these actions left her exposed during a later restructuring exercise.
Tribunal documents revealed that Google’s internal probe upheld the harassment claims, finding the manager guilty of inappropriate sexual remarks and unwanted physical contact. He was dismissed for gross misconduct.
Google has denied retaliating against Woodall, insisting her redundancy in March 2024 was part of a wider organisational restructuring. The company acknowledged her complaint as whistleblowing but said business decisions were misinterpreted as hostile.
Judgment is expected in the coming weeks.
