Nollywood filmmaker Ugezu J. Ugezu has shared his perspective on men’s roles in relationships, emphasizing that financial support should not equate to an obligation to marry.
In a recent Facebook post, Ugezu highlighted that assisting a woman with her education or personal development does not guarantee that she must become a wife in return. He described such support as a natural duty that men should fulfill without expecting marriage as a reward.
Ugezu encouraged men to recognize that if a woman chooses to end a relationship, the best course of action is to move on. He stated, “That you paid the school fees of a maiden and assisted financially in shaping her life does not mean you must marry her. There are things a man must do and leave for the universe. IFE ANA EMELU ENU. If she finally says no…walk away. Echi ga abu echi oma.”
He urged men to embrace patience, maturity, and faith in future opportunities rather than forcing relationships based on financial contributions.
In other news, singer Yhemolee has addressed rumors surrounding an incident involving his wife, Thaylor B, and interior decorator Queen Akeredolu.
