Trump Defends Sharing Controversial Obama Video

US President Donald Trump has defended sharing a video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys, claiming it was not a mistake and that he did not watch the full clip before posting.

Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump insisted the video’s focus on alleged voter fraud was the reason he shared it. He maintained he does not need to apologise, though he said he condemns the video’s content.

The post, originally on Trump’s Truth Social account, was removed after widespread backlash. California Governor Gavin Newsom and political analysts called it racist and inappropriate, with critics urging all Republicans to denounce the act.

Trump’s explanation—that he only viewed the first segment—has done little to ease tensions, raising questions about his judgment and social media conduct as a former president. The incident highlights the ongoing controversy surrounding political figures and the use of AI-generated content in influencing public opinion.
