Troops Crack Down on Crime, Rescue Abducted Woman in Adamawa

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded fresh security successes in Adamawa State, arresting armed robbery suspects and rescuing an abducted woman during coordinated operations in Mubi North and Hong Local Government Areas.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the first operation took place around 2:30 a.m. on January 29 after troops received a distress call from Barama community in Mubi North. Soldiers swiftly moved in and arrested two suspects allegedly attempting to rob a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.

One suspect sustained a gunshot wound while trying to confront the troops and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, for treatment. The suspects were later handed over to the police. Recovered items included cutlasses, laptops, mobile phones and a power bank.

In a related operation on January 28, troops, alongside local vigilantes, carried out a fighting patrol along the Amtasa–Washim axis in Hong LGA. Terrorists were engaged and forced to flee, leading to the rescue of a kidnapped woman. Weapons and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle, were also recovered.
