A 100-level student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, identified as Comfort Jimtop, has been found dead in her boyfriend’s apartment under mysterious circumstances.
Comfort, who was pursuing a degree in Mass Communication, hailed from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. Her lifeless body was reportedly discovered on Friday afternoon.
Sources indicate that police recovered empty bottles of alcoholic drinks beside the bed where Comfort was found.
According to Daily Trust, the building housing the apartment has approximately 15 tenants. Following the incident, all tenants, including the occupant of the room where Comfort’s body was located, allegedly fled the premises.
In a telephone interview with Daily Trust, the Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba, ASP Leshen James, confirmed that the deceased’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Shata, is also a student at TSU. “When our officers arrived at the house where the student died, nobody was found in the apartment,” James stated.
He added that investigations are underway, and efforts are being made to locate Shata and the other tenants who vacated the building.
