Lagos witnessed an unforgettable weekend of rhythm, glamour, and pure Afrobeats brilliance as music superstars Tiwa Savage and BNXN (formerly Buju) thrilled fans with back-to-back album launch celebrations that became the talk of the town.
From Tiwa’s soulful and intimate unveiling of her new album This One Is Personal to BNXN’s electrifying Captain launch, the city pulsed with music, creativity, and celebration — a true showcase of Afrobeats excellence.

At the center of both spectacular nights was Don Julio, the world’s leading luxury tequila brand, which infused its signature class and energy into every moment. Guests were treated to bespoke Don Julio cocktails, carefully curated to reflect the personalities and musical essence of each artist.
While Tiwa’s event radiated elegance, emotional depth, and reflection, BNXN’s was a thrilling explosion of bold energy and youthful confidence. The contrast of both evenings highlighted how seamlessly Don Julio fits into the different expressions of Afrobeats culture — refined and soulful, bold and energetic — all anchored in celebration, success, and artistry.

According to Ifeoma Agu, Group Head of Culture, Influencers & Advocacy at Diageo South, West & Central Africa, the “Afrobeats Weekend” represented more than just music and entertainment; it was a powerful cultural moment.
“This weekend was more than an event; it was a cultural testament,” Agu stated. “By celebrating both the intimate artistry of Tiwa Savage and the bold command of BNXN, we cemented Don Julio’s presence at the absolute peak of Afrobeats culture. We are not just a luxury spirit; we are The Icon of Celebration — honoring every earned moment with unmatched style.”
The activation recorded massive social media buzz and earned media traction, redefining the perception of tequila in luxury African settings and setting a new benchmark for brand integration in music and culture.
