President Bola Tinubu has again intervened in the deepening political crisis between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Reports indicate that the president has summoned Wike for a crucial meeting outside Nigeria as part of efforts to calm tensions.

Governor Fubara is also said to be seeking an audience with Tinubu in France, after travelling out of the country on Thursday. The intervention comes amid renewed impeachment moves against Fubara and his deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu, by Rivers State House of Assembly members reportedly loyal to Wike.

During a plenary session, lawmakers formally read allegations of gross misconduct against the governor. Political observers say Tinubu Wike Fubara intervention is aimed at preventing further breakdown of governance and restoring stability in Rivers State.
