Speaking in Abuja, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu said the directive is backed by intensified joint security operations, stronger early-warning systems and rapid-response mechanisms. He disclosed plans for a national database to provide verified data on deaths and casualties from violent attacks, aimed at improving accountability and decision-making.
Ribadu stressed that investigations and prosecutions linked to attacks on religious communities have been stepped up, noting that violence framed along religious lines is treated as an attack on the Nigerian state. He added that security reforms integrate force, justice, humanitarian safeguards and strategic communication.
US officials reaffirmed support for Nigeria, urging stronger protection for vulnerable groups, while government officials highlighted gains in intelligence sharing and military cooperation.
