President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after concluding a high-profile state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, marking a new phase in Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic engagement.

The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 8:55 p.m. and was received by key government officials, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle.

The Ankara visit featured crucial bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, alongside meetings with top defence and government officials. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in security, military training, intelligence sharing, and counter-terrorism efforts to support Nigeria’s fight against insurgency.

Both nations also reaffirmed their commitment to deepen economic relations, targeting a $5 billion trade volume, signalling expanded opportunities in trade and investment.

President Tinubu described the engagements as productive, stressing Nigeria’s readiness to build stronger partnerships that promote security, economic growth, and regional stability.
