Tim Godfrey Replies Critics Over Oxlade Collaboration: “Grace Is For Everyone”

Award-winning gospel singer Tim Godfrey has broken his silence after facing backlash over his latest single “Infinity”, featuring popular Afrobeats artiste Oxlade.

The collaboration, released earlier this week, sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many questioning why a gospel minister would team up with a singer once linked to a leaked intimate video.

Critics accused Tim Godfrey of “promoting worldliness” and claimed the partnership blurred the line between gospel and secular music.

After days of silence, the gospel star addressed the controversy in an open letter titled “To The Labelled.”

In the heartfelt message, Tim spoke about the tendency of society — especially within religious circles — to judge people based on appearances or past mistakes.

He explained that his intention was not to conform to worldly standards but to express God’s unconditional love and acceptance through music.

“Many people are rejected because they don’t look, act, or sound like others expect,” he wrote. “I’ve also been criticized for being different, but grace is for everyone.”

Tim urged Christians to embrace love over condemnation, reminding them that Jesus walked with outcasts and welcomed those deemed unworthy by society.

He further revealed that his upcoming album, “No Label,” will be released on October 31, 2025, describing it as more than just a musical project — but a movement for people who have been “boxed, misunderstood, or judged.”

“No Label is a message of freedom, love, and breaking stereotypes about what faith should look like,” he added.

Fans have since flooded social media with mixed comments — while some hailed his inclusiveness, others maintained that gospel ministers should remain distinct from secular influences.
