“They Want to Lock Me Up Till Monday!” — BBNaija Star Phyna Cries Out Over ₦3.5m Hotel Damage Allegation

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has raised an alarm over her alleged detention following a violent incident at Dalchifit Hotel in Gwarinpa, Abuja.

In a series of posts shared via her Instagram story, the reality TV star claimed that she was being held by police after the hotel management accused her of destroying property worth ₦3.5 million.

According to Phyna, the clash began when some individuals she knew gained access to her hotel room and attacked her, resulting in chaos and damage to the hotel’s facilities.

She alleged that the hotel staff allowed the attackers into the premises through the main gate and reception before they broke into her room.

“Dalchifit hotel in Gwarinpa allowed touts to come into the hotel to fight me, and now they are about to lock me up till Monday because I refused to pay a damage of ₦3.5m. Please, I’m in prison right now,” Phyna wrote.

The TV star expressed frustration over what she described as poor security and negligence by the hotel management, saying they failed to protect her despite her celebrity status.

She also revealed that she had requested CCTV footage to confirm what transpired but said both the hotel and the police refused to release it.

“They are locking me up because I asked for CCTV footage to prove the extent of the damages. Till now, they’ve refused to show the footage to the police,” she added.

Phyna further accused the hotel of deliberately cooperating with the attackers, claiming the staff even disclosed her room number to them.

“A hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, through reception, up till the second floor to bang and break down the door—same hotel that told them my room number. I’ve never seen that type of thing,” she said.

As of the time of this report, Dalchifit Hotel management has not issued an official statement, and efforts to reach them for comments have been unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Phyna’s fans have flooded social media with messages calling for her release and demanding a fair investigation into the incident.
