Tension in Anambra as APC Supporters Storm Streets Over Alleged Appointment Marginalisation

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State staged a street protest over what they describe as deliberate exclusion from recent federal appointments. The demonstrators, seen in a viral video shared by political commentator Chuks Eric E on X (formerly Twitter), carried placards demanding their rightful share of ministerial, ambassadorial and board positions.

According to the protesters, APC members in Anambra worked tirelessly during the 2023 presidential election, contributing significantly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s overall votes despite the state being an APGA stronghold. They expressed disappointment that loyal party supporters who sacrificed resources and influence are being ignored.

Party insiders say the protest highlights growing internal tension within the APC in the Southeast. They warn that continued neglect could weaken the party’s already fragile grassroots structure ahead of future elections.
