It was an emotional moment as Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo’s mother-in-law finally laid eyes on her grandson, stirring reactions across social media.
Kemi Filani had earlier reported that Priscilla and her Tanzanian husband, Juma Jux, welcomed their first child, Prince Raheem Ayomide Mkambala, in Canada on Sunday, August 24th.
Since Juma and his family could not travel to Canada due to visa delays, the long-awaited reunion took place when Priscilla and baby Raheem finally arrived in Tanzania.
In the now-viral clip, Juma’s mother – the newest grandmother in town – was visibly overwhelmed with excitement as she lovingly cradled her grandson for the first time.
Reactions have been pouring in online:
One fan, anike_herbs05, gushed: “This is so beautiful.”
Another, oreoluwa_steve, wrote: “See the joy and happiness in this family, God. Am so happy for Priscilla.”
bimz_models added: “Joy of every mother.”
abiunique_wears noted: “First grandson, congratulations to the family. I’m sure Mama is seeing her husband’s face on the baby.”
iam_ajiboyeomowunmi shared: “Their joy knows no bounds. Juma is extremely happy.”
Speaking in a phone interview, Juma revealed he had applied for a Canadian visa but could not secure it in time. Despite the setback, he expressed gratitude for finally being able to celebrate with his wife and son at home.
Meanwhile, Priscilla had previously posted a touching video of her father in Canada meeting his grandson for the first time. The clip, which went viral, captured the proud grandfather’s joy.
Iyabo Ojo, Priscilla’s mother, also celebrated the bond between both families, describing Juma’s mother as a “King Mother” and expressing gratitude that her daughter had married into such a loving home.
To mark the baby’s arrival, Juma shared dapper photos captioned “Rakeem’s Dad”, while his sister Fatima sent baby Raheem flowers, cash gifts, and a teddy bear.
The couple’s love story has been one for the books. Priscilla and Juma tied the knot in a lavish six-part wedding ceremony spread across Nigeria and Tanzania earlier this year. In response to speculations, Priscilla clarified on Snapchat that they had privately married in a Nikkai ceremony last year before the grand public celebrations with family and friends.
