Soludo Signs ₦766bn 2026 Budget, Okays 3 Key Laws in Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has signed the ₦766 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a major step in the state’s fiscal planning. The signing ceremony was held at the Light House, Awka.

The budget, initially proposed at ₦757 billion, was reviewed and increased by the State House of Assembly after deliberations. Governor Soludo said the 2026 budget provides a solid financial framework for economic growth, infrastructure development and improved social welfare across the state.

In addition to the budget, the governor also signed three key bills into law, covering mission schools of nursing and midwifery, approved taxes and levies, and the Anambra State Correctional Service.

Soludo commended the lawmakers for their cooperation, stressing that transparency, accountability and inclusive governance remain central to his administration.
