Shehu Sani Fires At Trump Over Greenland Plan

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has sharply criticised United States President Donald Trump, accusing him of aggressive foreign conduct including alleged actions in Venezuela and renewed interest in Greenland. Sani, known for his vocal commentary on international affairs, accused Trump of disregarding international law and sovereignty in pursuit of territorial ambitions.

In his remarks on social media, Sani claimed Trump “illegally invaded Venezuela and kidnapped their president” and is now threatening to seize Greenland by force. Although Trump’s interest in Greenland is rooted in strategic security concerns and heightened by global power competition, Danish and Greenlandic authorities have rejected any notion of territorial takeover.

Sani’s comments reflect broader global debate on sovereign rights and the limits of unilateral intervention, with critics warning that such rhetoric undermines international norms and fuels geopolitical tensions. His rebuke adds to ongoing scrutiny of Trump’s foreign policy posture and raises questions about respect for national sovereignty in contemporary diplomacy.
