Nigerian singer Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, popularly known as Seyi Shay, has caused a stir after openly revealing that she was once part of the Illuminati.
For years, there have been unconfirmed rumors linking some Nigerian celebrities to the controversial secret society. However, Seyi Shay’s recent revelation is one of the rare instances where an artist has publicly admitted such an affiliation.
The “Yolo Yolo” crooner made the disclosure during her appearance on the OffAir Podcast with Gbemi and Toolz. According to her, her involvement with the Illuminati was a phase in her career.
“That’s when I was in the Illuminati. That’s when I joined the Illuminati. That’s when it was official. Do you understand? I was an Illuminati member,” she said.
Seyi Shay further explained that while fans may not fully understand these connections, industry insiders often know which artists have had links to the group.
“It’s not the fans, guys. It’s the people in the industry… the ones who work with me, work with her, work with that one,” she added.
Her revelation has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether she was speaking seriously or teasing about a common conspiracy theory in the entertainment industry.
