In what is being described as a bold and unprecedented step, the UK’s foreign intelligence agency, MI6, has officially launched a “dark web portal” aimed at recruiting spies in Russia and across the world.
The portal, named “Silent Courier,” is designed to provide individuals with access to sensitive information about terrorism, espionage, or hostile intelligence activity a safe and anonymous way to communicate with Britain.
How the Portal Works
According to MI6, instructions on how to access the portal have been posted on its verified YouTube channel. Potential spies are advised to use the Tor browser to gain entry, while also using separate devices and email accounts not linked to them in order to avoid raising suspicions.
The agency further advised that if Tor is blocked in certain countries, users should deploy VPNs to bypass restrictions.
