Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, has shared a cryptic message online that many believe hints at the ongoing controversy surrounding his sister’s troubled marriage with billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
Naija News reports that in a post via his Instagram story, Sammy reflected on the popular saying, “A good name is better than riches,” adding that recent events have made him truly understand the meaning behind it.
He wrote:
“When we had debates in secondary school on ‘A good name is better than riches,’ na now you go understand! I no dey worship money. RESPECT is beautiful things.”
The statement comes just days after a viral video showed Regina Daniels appearing distressed, claiming she could no longer cope with the alleged violence in her marriage.
Her brother, Sammy West, had earlier accused Nwoko of physically assaulting her — a claim the businessman has since denied.
In a statement on his verified Instagram page, Ned Nwoko alleged that Regina’s abuse of drugs and alcohol had caused the recent turmoil in their home. He claimed she became aggressive, attacking three domestic staff and destroying properties, including vehicles and windows, within 48 hours.
Nwoko added that he had arranged a rehabilitation programme for her both in Asokoro and abroad, but she allegedly refused to attend.
As the controversy deepens, fans have expressed concern for Regina’s wellbeing, while others urge both parties to settle their issues privately for the sake of their children.
