Prince Arthur Eze Named Chairman of Isaac Balami University Governing Council

Prominent South East billionaire and philanthropist, Prince (Dr.) Arthur Eze, OFR, has been officially appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the newly established Isaac Balami University of Aeronautic and Management (IBUAM).

The unveiling ceremony took place on Friday in Abuja, where the university’s founder and president, Comrade Isaac Balami, alongside members of the board and management team, presented the official appointment letter to Prince Eze.

Speaking at the event, Balami said the decision to appoint the oil mogul was based on his “unmatched contributions to education, philanthropy, and national development,” describing him as “a man who has used his wealth to transform lives and institutions.”

He noted that Eze’s leadership would play a crucial role in steering the young university toward achieving its vision of world-class excellence in aeronautics and management education.

“Our leader and chairman, Prince Dr. Arthur Eze, is a global figure who has operated one of the biggest aircraft hangars in Europe and understands the aviation sector deeply,” Balami said. “We are fully submissive to your leadership, guidance, and prayers.”

In his acceptance speech, Prince Eze expressed gratitude for the honour, pledging his full support for the university’s growth and sustainability. He noted that the university’s vision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s goals for innovation, education, and human capacity development.

Eze, who is widely celebrated for his humanitarian works and business integrity, has continued to play a key role in national development through investments and philanthropy.

The Isaac Balami University of Aeronautic and Management, which recently obtained its operational licence, is designed to offer cutting-edge education in aviation, engineering, technology, and management.

Notably, the university demonstrates a national and international outlook, with leadership drawn from all geopolitical zones of Nigeria — and even beyond. The founder hails from the North East, the governing council chairman from the South East, the registrar from the North Central, and the pro-chancellor from the South West.

The university’s board also features international members from Morocco, Ethiopia, Egypt, the United States, and Europe, reflecting its global commitment to academic excellence.
