Portable Warns Impostor Lookalike: “Nobody Fit Collect My Show, I Earn ₦10 Million Per Performance”

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has finally addressed the trending issue of his lookalike who has been impersonating him at events across the country.

In a video shared on his official Instagram page, the street-hop sensation revealed that his impersonator has been cashing in on his fame by taking shows meant for him and performing his songs.

According to Portable, the development is laughable because, in his words, “Nobody can be like me. He can’t talk like me. If I say they should beat him to death now, Nigerians will start clamouring for justice, and petitions will start flying around.”

The Zazu crooner went further to issue a stern warning to his impostor, stressing that the difference between them is clear when it comes to performance fees. While Portable charges a whopping ₦10 million per show, his lookalike reportedly settles for ₦250,000.

He added: “I heard that someone who said he is my look-alike is taking my shows. Nobody can be like me. He can’t collect my own show; someone they are paying just ₦250k, whereas I am being paid over ₦10 million for one show. Dear Look-alike, be very, very careful.”

As expected, Nigerians had a lot to say about Portable’s outburst:

One Yemiboi wrote: “Werey don wise. Where you put your brain before now?”

Portable’s Recent Highlights

This is not the first time Portable has made headlines. Just last month, he stunned fans with a new makeover, rocking a white and green outfit while listing out his titles: Mr Nigeria, Tony Montana of London, Ika of Africa, Emergency Musician, and Awolumate of America.

A few weeks earlier, the singer also slammed the Big Brother Naija organisers for failing to invite him to the reality show, insisting that he would have made the house lively. Portable described himself as a fashion designer, stylist, street king, and star.

In 2023, he bagged the Artist of the Year Award, proudly declaring himself as “the new Fela.”

Portable first broke into the limelight in December 2021 with his hit single “Zazu Zeh”, featuring Olamide and dancer Poco Lee, and has since remained a major talking point in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
