The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three notorious drug dealers following a series of coordinated intelligence-led operations across the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Saturday, noting that the operations were carried out on October 18, 2025.
According to SP Shiisu, the suspects had long been on the police watchlist for their alleged roles in the distribution of illicit substances within Jigawa State and neighbouring regions.
He disclosed that the raids led to the recovery of a large cache of illegal drugs, including:
- Exol (13,505 tablets)
- D5 (1,583 tablets)
- Tramadol (3,572 tablets)
- Diazepam (565 tablets)
- Rubber Solution (2,469 bottles)
- Cannabis (Indian Hemp) — 1 block and 886 wraps
- Suck and Die, Akuskura, Farin Malam (340 sachets)
- Other assorted hard drugs and intoxicating substances (1,042 units)
The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Garba, Musa Garba, and Hudu Ma’ilu, all residents of Guneri Village, Malamawa District, Niger Republic.
SP Shiisu stated that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing a thorough investigation, after which they will be charged to court.
The Commissioner of Police commended the gallant officers who carried out the operation, reaffirming the command’s zero-tolerance policy against drug-related crimes.
He also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible intelligence to help security agencies identify and apprehend criminal elements across the state.
