The Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to a series of motorcycle thefts across the state. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Wednesday, detailing how the suspects were tracked and apprehended in separate operations.
The first incident occurred on October 3, 2025, when 23-year-old Michael Isah of BYJ area, Kwamba, allegedly fled with his friend’s TVS motorcycle worth over ₦1 million. The next day, officers recovered the stolen bike from Abubakar Sadiq Mutawakil, who was attempting to sell it. Mutawakil’s confession led to Isah’s arrest.
In a related operation, police in Bida arrested another 23-year-old suspect, Adamu Mohammed, with a stolen TVS motorcycle. He confessed to stealing it from Ndasako village in Wushishi LGA and has since been charged to court.
Similarly, in Katcha Division, Abubakar Mohammed was caught with an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle stolen from Cheche village. Investigations are ongoing.
