Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, marking a major shift in the state’s political landscape. The governor announced his decision in a resignation letter addressed to his ward leadership in Mangu Local Government Area.
Mutfwang said his decision was driven by the need for purposeful leadership, clearer direction, and improved service delivery to the people of Plateau State. He expressed appreciation to the PDP for the platform it provided him and thanked party leaders and supporters for their loyalty over the years.
According to the governor, prevailing political realities made it necessary for him to seek an alternative platform to actualise his governance goals. His resignation takes immediate effect, paving the way for his expected move to the ruling All Progressives Congress, as earlier hinted by APC leadership.
