PINL Backs FG’s 2.5m BPD Oil Target, Deepens Niger Delta Security Drive

Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) has pledged full support to the Federal Government’s plan to achieve 2.5 million barrels per day crude oil production by 2026. The company, responsible for surveillance of the Eastern Corridor of the Trans Niger Pipeline, made the commitment during its January stakeholders’ meeting with host communities in Bayelsa State.

PINL’s General Manager for Community and Stakeholder Relations, Dr Akpos Mezeh, said the company would strengthen collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, NNPC Limited and security agencies to sustain zero infractions along the pipeline. He also disclosed plans to mediate conflicts in oil-producing communities, including Ogoniland, to boost output.

The firm announced expanded empowerment programmes for women and youths, enhanced community intelligence, and capacity-building training for community contractors in 2026. Traditional rulers and youth leaders commended the engagement, urging the Federal Government to improve infrastructure and make petroleum products affordable to curb vandalism and sustain peace in the Niger Delta.
