PDP Accuses Tinubu’s Allies of Fueling Opposition Crisis in Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to rein in his cabinet members and supporters allegedly sponsoring crises within opposition parties.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the PDP criticized the Tinubu administration for granting asylum to Guinea-Bissau opposition presidential candidate Fernando Dia Da Costa while allegedly neglecting democratic fairness at home.

The party argued that although Nigeria’s intervention in Guinea-Bissau promotes regional stability, Tinubu must also protect democracy locally. The statement accused government loyalists of coercing elected officials to defect to the ruling party and fueling internal crises in opposition platforms.

The PDP insisted that the President has a constitutional duty to maintain a free and competitive political space and warned against actions that could push Nigeria toward a one-party state.
