General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has narrated a chilling encounter with a traditional ruler who procrastinated repentance until his death.
Speaking during a service, Adeboye recalled that while at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) working on a mathematical problem, God directed him to write a letter to the ailing monarch, urging him to surrender his life to Christ.
According to Adeboye, he obeyed immediately, writing the message exactly as instructed and mailing it. Miraculously, the traditional ruler received the letter within three days and later visited him.
“God told me to tell him, I love him, I know all about his faults, I know everything he has done wrong. If he will surrender his life to me, I will forgive him and still take him to heaven,” Adeboye recounted.
Despite repeated visits spanning three years, the monarch continually postponed his repentance. Even after surviving a massive stroke through what Adeboye described as uncommon mercy, the chief still replied, “I will think about it.”
Shortly after, the traditional ruler died without accepting Christ.
Daddy G.O. emphasized that while salvation is freely offered, no one can be forced to accept it. He described the experience as a powerful reminder of the dangers of delay in making life’s most important decision.
